13 MOONS consists of 12 paintings, one gold leaf moon, applied to the floor and 13 videos on DVD format. The paintings were done in New York in 2000 and completed in Vancouver in 2003. The videos were shot over the past 3 years in NYC, Hawaii and Vancouver and were produced in 2003.

13 MOONS was first exhibited at the Basement Show in Vancouver, 2003.

The installation of the piece can vary according to the situation. The paintings can be seen on their own or engaged with the video projection at different times of the day and night. Just as paintings change in natural light, the surface and the video projection interact to create an ever-changing figurative and abstract field. The video transforms the surface of the painting, while the painting (screen) provides new colour and texture for the montage of video image.
